Dodgers’ Pitching Staff Scores Consecutive Shutouts

LA took on the White Sox in Glendale when Hyun Jin Ryu took the mound and earned him self a solid outing.

Pitching for 2 innings and only conceding two hits Ryu, the 26 year old sophomore out of South Korea kept the score deadlocked at 0.

Wilson and Jansen threw innings 3 and 4 respectively only giving up one hit each and no team really looked like scoring.

Gonzalez hit a double in the second but the rest of the order failed to score him.

Perez and J.P. Howell came on for an inning each after that and threw perfect frames, each with one strike out and then the offence came to life.

Clint Robinson singled to right field in the bottom of the 7th and then the Dodgers prospect, Joc Pederson, showed us why, smacking a fly ball out to left to score 2.

Matt Magill took to the mound for a scoreless 8th and then 9th to earn a save and a great set up performance for the offence who again took advantage of some bad pitching.

Dee Gordon took a walk before Baxter tapped one into left for a double to get an RBI. He got pushed around through a ground out to allow Harris to Sac Fly and get an RBI. Then Clint Robinson got him self a second hit with a bomb to right field, his first for the Spring.

Ethier (2-5 in ST), Hanley Ramirez (Without a hit in ST) and Gonzalez (3-6 in ST) all got a game for 5 innings as usual for the early Spring (even though it’s still winter).

LA only managed 6 hits but took maximum advantage for a solid 5-0 win.
