Everyone knows that the Dodgers haven’t had much luck when it comes to injuries, especially around important times of the season, like when their lead is cut to just one game and the Giants are turning into the team with all the form.
So this injury to LA’s starting pitcher Hyun Jin Ryu isn’t that much of a surprise but what an annoying thing to have.
Ryu started the first of 3 against the Giants today in AT&T Stadium and just never looked comfortable. His fastball went above 90 twice and he averaged 87 mph per fastball.
The South Korean native was put on the DL earlier this year too with a slight problem in his left shoulder, the problem with that being that he has done the same thing.
I felt it during the warm up session
Hyun Jin said via a translator.
The official injury is “left shoulder irritation” as per @Dodgers on twitter but he is seeing specialists and club doctors tomorrow to get it looked at. Let’s hope it is nothing too major for our Number 3.
